Hi, I’m Yumiko, mum of 2 preschool aged girls from West Auckland, New Zealand.

The idea for this website started rattling about in my head soon after the birth of my first daughter in July 2006. I was shocked at how quickly kids’ stuff just accumulated over a short period of time – a lot of which she would grow out of quite quickly. When my second daughter was born in October 2008, I made the decision that as she grew out of her gear, I would start selling it. The only obvious choice to do this is on a very popular NZ auction site, however I was disheartened by the fees which come with listing, and then selling your stuff. Not to mention, I’m a very impatient person and the whole auction process doesn’t really sit well with me.

So here we are now – with a website I created at the end of March 2009, to help other people in the same situation as myself… basically other parents and caregivers trying to clear that clutter whilst making a bit of extra cash in the process. When you have kids, you definitely try and find the best ways to manage your finances – and because the service that Kidsgear provides is totally 100% FREE, how can you go wrong?

I should add, that I have no intention of ever charging people to use this service, so there is no hidden agenda to get you hooked and then charge you for it! Hope you enjoy using the site
